About Michael

This page is all about Michael...

Michael Kumer was one of the most caring and loving people I know. He was loved by hundreds of family memebers, friends, and teenagers all over the city.

On the night of April 19, 2003, Michael left my brother, Tommy, at the end of our street and made his way home, after spending the whole day skateboarding the city streets with Tommy. When Michael was about 2 blocks from his street, a truck turned the corner, and hit Michael as he was walking, or riding his skateboard, in the bicycle lane. Witnesses say that Michael's shirt hooked onto the bumper of the truck and was drug about 50+ feet. When his shirt let go, the driver did a u-turn around Michael then sped off and turned on the next through street. Witnesses rushed to Michael's aid, but was unable to get a license plate number, but they did get a discription of the truck. **See below**

Michael was hit around 8:30pm. The same time my brother and dad were turning off our street, to get some food, and saw the ambulance speed by. "Ohh looks like an accident's down there." My dad said as they drove off, making nothing of it.

Later that night, around 11:30pm, we got a call from Michael's mother, Marcella Kumer, asking if Michael was spending the night, because the police were at the house with photo's of some braclet's Michael was wearing. As soon as she said they culd not find him, we all got in the car and went to look for him. After looking for a long time, we called the Kumer's and they said Michael was at UMC hospital with 98% brain damage, a broken hip, a broken finger and bit his tounge in half. My parents and brother rushed to the hospital and were there for about 4 hours. Then came home, slept for 2 hours and went back the next moring and stayed till all Michael's family and friends were gathered around him. Then they turned off Life Support and Michael was taken into the arms of God at 11:30pm.

**The Description of The Truck**
It's a 1980 to 1986 blue Datsun or Nissan pick-up with a construction rack on the back and a pole in the bed of the truck.
